Creative Darlington has joined forces with Lens Think to encourage photographers in the borough to submit their images of the “unseen beautiful” in Darlington through Instagram.

The images can be anything that celebrates Darlington’s unseen beauty – the beautiful surroundings and everyday things that you think showcase the area through a different perspective.

To submit a photograph, use the hashtag #unseenbeautifuldarlo when uploading photographs to Instagram.

The images will be featured in a special pop up exhibition in Crown Street Art Gallery, alongside the work of photographer and Lens Think founder Joanne Coates, from Saturday, May 18th, 2019 until Wednesday, May 29th, 2019, as part of Darlington Arts Festival programme.

Visitors to the exhibition will then be invited to vote – both online and in the gallery – for their favourite photograph.

The winner, which will be announced on Wednesday, May 29th, 2019, as part of a celebration and closing event between 5:30pm and 6:30pm, will be invited to take part in a one-day photography workshop led by Joanne Coates.
