A Darlington-based construction company has announced its plans to expand, having secured funding from Barclays.
As part of its expansion, Todds Highway Maintenance Limited will be investing in new machinery that will enable the company to take on and complete larger jobs.
Graeme Todd, Director at Todds Highway Maintenance Limited, explained: “We’ve seen steady growth since we started in 1996 and the new funding from Barclays has enabled us to purchase a new Wirtgen W220 Cold Milling Machine.
“This new kit will enable us to complete the larger jobs we do more quickly and efficiently and add to our growing range of equipment which includes low-loaders, road sweepers, asphalt rollers, pavers and bobcats.”
Todd continued: “Our customers range from private individuals right through to Local Authorities so it’s imperative that we have the latest equipment to compete effectively and provide the right service for our customers.”
“Todds Highway Maintenance Limited now employs over 35 people locally and they are proud of the training they provide to keep their work force fully qualified. Turnover this year is expected to exceed £4 million.”
The funding package was put together by Mike Wicks, Senior Business Banking Manager at Barclays. He said: “Graeme and his family operate an impressive business and run state of the art equipment to maintain their excellent reputation for their operations.
“It’s great to be able to support a local business that is thriving and expanding for the future.”
