A new exhibition has launched at Darlington Hippodrome to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Darlington Embroiderers’ Guild.
2019 marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Darlington branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild.
To celebrate the occasion, members of the Darlington Embroiderers’ Guild have spent the last twelve months attending tours of Darlington Hippodrome.
This inspired them to produce pieces of embroidery that reflects their own interest or connection to the theatre.
An exhibition of the finished works of art is now open to the public in the ground floor gallery.
The gallery display also offers an opportunity to see the seven panel series, “Darlington in Stitches”, created by members and gifted to the town on Saturday, September 30th, 2000.
You can find out more about the Darlington Embroiderers’ Guild on their website.
