Ria Lina, Phil Nichol & Rob Mulholland

Ria Lina

Winner of the EMMA Award for Best Comedienne, Ria has been entertaining both UK and international audiences for over a decade with her dry wit and the occasional song. Using her charm and intelligence to get away with anything from the most audacious routines to subtle wordplay, Ria is a popular headline act at clubs around the world.

Ria is also a highly respected festival performer, and has been a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2011. Her 2014 show “School of Riason” was nominated for the Amused Moose Laughter Awards, contained one of Dave TV’s Top 10 Jokes of the Festival, and was commissioned by Radio 4 as a half-hour special, recorded and aired in 2016. Previous projects include her critically acclaimed shows “Thpethial” (2013) and “It’s Not Easy Being Yellow” (2012), which travelled to the Brighton Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe, and Singapore International Festivals. Her most recent show, Taboo Raider (2015), was filmed for DVD release and is due out in Spring 2016.

Ria’s talents have also been in demand in television, with her writing and acting in the ITV2 comedy sketch show Meet the Blogs, as well as writing and presenting her own documentary for Channel 4 revealing the truth behind the myths that surround oriental women in Britain. Other projects include the comedy series, Sweet n’ Sour Comedy and Malai Monologues, for BBC3, and The World Stands Up, for Comedy Central (USA), the Paramount Comedy Channel (UK), and the Comedy Network Channel (AUS).

Phil Nichol

Phil Nichol is a truly unique performer. An acclaimed actor, award winning comedian, producer, presenter, writer and musician – there is no end to his talent!

Phil is an energetic and exciting performer with an unquenchable thirst to break boundaries and innovate with his work. His skill as an improviser whether it be musical, comedy or straight is unparalleled. With a surreal edge to some of his mischievous rantings, Nichol always brings something new to the stage whilst his keen sense of fun and eye for the shocking and absurd has cemented his position as one of the best comedians on the circuit today. His assured and award winning performances in his theatrical work have attracted critical accolades and see him in great demand as an actor.

Phil headlines all the major comedy clubs around the country, and has performed at comedy clubs and festivals around the world, winning the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2006, having been nominated twice previously.

Rob Mulholland

One of the fastest rising new comedians on the circuit, Rob Mulholland fell into comedy after finding a flyer looking for acts to appear at Harrogate Comedy Festival on the ground outside his front door. In the two years since, he has clocked up a huge amount of gigs all over the country ranging from tiny pubs to massive theatres (even performing to 2,000 bikers at an outdoor festival!), and can now be seen most weekends in some of the biggest comedy clubs in the country.

Just as at home as an act or compere, Rob mixes cheeky audience banter with his intricately woven, gag-packed stories; adding a touch of the absurd to his askance glance at everyday life. Rob is 17 feet tall, made of steel and can jump over a mini cooper from a standing start.

Rob is the current Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year, and after finishing runner-up in this year’s Great Yorkshire Fringe New Act of the Year competition has awarded himself the title of “Yorkshire’s Funniest Non-Musical Comedian”. He was one half of the anarchic, late-night, yurt-based show #BlurredMinds at the 2015 Edinburgh festival and premiered his first solo show ‘Champion of Comedy’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2016.
