Darlington Trading Standards Statement

Fireworks season is fast approaching and Darlington Trading Standards is working hard to keep residents safe.

There are strict controls in place for the storage and sale of fireworks and Trading Standards and County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service will be visiting premises across the borough that have been licensed to store fireworks to ensure retailers are following the rules.

We are keen to hear about fireworks being sold in dubious circumstances; our officers will actively follow up leads about people using social media to sell fireworks illegally.

We also want to know from anyone who has concerns about possible illegal fireworks storage inDarlington so officers can investigate.

You can report suspected illegal storage and sales of fireworks in confidence on the Darlington Borough Council website or by calling Citizens Advice consumer service on 03454 04 05 06.
