Jess Glynne has confirmed that her show at the Darlington Arena on Friday (August 2nd, 2019) will be going ahead as planned.
In June, the “Rather Be” singer released a statement announcing she would be cancelling all her shows through to July 14th on the advice of her vocal surgeon, including TRNSMT festival in Scotland.
Following the new, fans of Jess Glynne who had purchased tickets to her show at Darlington Arena on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 raised concerns about whether the gig would go ahead.
Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, CEO of LHG Live, promoters of the concert at Darlington Arena, said: “We were saddened to hear that Jess Glynne has had to pull out of her most immediate concert commitments due to a haemorrhaged vocal chord, and we wish her a very speedy recovery.
“To fans in Darlington excited to see her in August, we can assure you there is no reason for concern, and we look forward to seeing Jess perform for you all on Friday, August 2nd, 2019.”
Posting on Twitter on Monday, July 29th, 2019, the singer revealed that her Darlington gig would be going ahead as planned, although the Carlisle show two days later is to be rescheduled in order for the singer to give the “best show possible”.
Glynne said: “As you know, I’m recovering from some vocal issues and have been told I can only perform two shows in a row at this time.
“I wanted to make sure I give the best show possible so, with the lovely team in Carlisle working with me, I have decided to move this concert from Sunday, August 4h, 2019 to Saturday, September 14th, 2019 in order to throw ‘the summer blow-out party to end all parties” and I wanna make sure you’re there, all the way with me!”
Those with tickets for the Carlisle concert at Bitts Park will be given an additional free ticket for the rescheduled show in September.
Alternatively, their ticket will also be valid for the Darlington show on Friday, August 2nd, 2019.
