Job listing sparks rumours of bowling alley opening in Darlington

A new job listing on Facebook has sparked further rumours of a bowling alley opening in Darlington.

On Thursday, April 13th, 2017, Lane7, a boutique bowling alley in Newcastle, posted the advert for a Bookings Assistant to “work from [their] central Darlington office”.

According to the advert, the successful candidate would be required to work a “minimum of 30 hours a week” with an immediate start.

The listing was spotted by a number of people who believed the Bookings Assistant would be based at a new bowling alley in Darlington, which has been strongly rumoured to open at the former TK Maxx store on Crown Street.

Darlington Bowling Alley Job Listing

This isn’t the first time Lane7 has advertised for jobs in the town. In December 2016, Tim Wilks, the owner of Lane7, opened Liquorette – Darlington’s first ever pop-up bar.

Wilks revealed that he was drawn to Darlington due to the increasingly popular nightlife and leisure scene in the town.

He said: “With all of the recent developments in the town, I believe Darlington is on the rise again and we want to help take it back to its glory days.

“We’re looking to heavily invest in the area by creating a new venue and generating employment and are scouting out properties and potential options at present.”
