Darlington Police has launched a witness appeal following a crash on North Road in Darlington, which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

Darlington Police has launched a witness appeal following a crash on North Road in Darlington, which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

During the incident, which occurred at 5:25pm on Sunday, April 2nd, 2017, a Kawasaki bike and a Suzuki Alto collided at the junction with Charles Street, near Morrison’s supermarket.

The rider of the motorbike, a 42-year-old man from West Cornforth, suffered serious leg injuries, and has been detained in the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.

His pillion passenger, a woman aged 40, was treated at Darlington Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

The occupants of the Suzuki, a family of four from Darlington, were all unhurt.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, especially if they have any dashcam footage, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 0191 375 2159.
