Police officer and lifelong martial artist to host self-defence class in Darlington

A Durham Constabulary police officer and lifelong martial artist is to host a free self-defence class for women in Darlington.

When he’s not patrolling the streets of Darlington as a neighbourhood police officer, PC Neil Walton is regarded as one of the UK’s best martial arts instructors.

Having practised since the age of five, PC Walton has since gone on to hold numerous black belts and instructor ranks in several arts, has fought internationally in Thai boxing and has served as a police personal safety trainer.

He is also ranked as an expert in Krav Maga, which is a military self-defence system developed for the Israel Defence Forces and Israeli security forces. He was awarded the rank in 2013 after training in Israel.
