Darlington will be marking Remembrance Sunday (on Sunday, November 11th, 2018) with a series of events including a service, parade and a concert.
Remembrance Sunday commemorates the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
This year’s events will be lead by the Mayor of Darlington, Councillor Veronica Copeland. She said: “It is a great honour for me to lead Darlington’s tribute to those who served and those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and in more recent conflicts.
“It is particularly poignant this year as we commemorate 100 years since the end of World War One and remember the sacrifices made by those who so bravely went to war in defence of our freedoms.”
