Road closure announced to allow work to be completed on new housing development

Part of the A67 Carmel Road South will temporarily be closed to allow work to be completed on the Story Homes development.

Starting on Thursday, August 1st, 2019, the road will be closed for up to six days between Blackwell and the junction with the A66 roundabout.

An alternative route will be signed via Grange Road/Coniscliffe Road and vice versa, with access being maintained for local residents and businesses at all times.

The closure of the A67 Carmel Road South is required in order to finalise the site access to The Willows – a new housing development from Story Homes.

A spokesperson for Darlington Borough Council said: “Sorry for any inconvenience – and thank you for your patience.”

You can find out further details about the roadworks taking place in the town on the Darlington Borough Council website.
