Room for more? Darlington Restaurant Week to return after successful first week

Darlington Restaurant Week is set to return after the promotion was deemed a “great success” by restaurants and diners alike.

The week-long event, which was organised by the Darlington Borough Council Town Centre Partnership, ran from Monday, February 25th, 2019 until Sunday, March 3rd, 2019.

During the week, 28 restaurants and cafes in Darlington town centre ran a special offer of two courses for £10 or less.

A representative from Allegria, one of the Italian restaurants to participate in the promotion, said: ““Restaurant Week has helped to kick off our business. We’ve had lots of people asking about our two course specials. Thumbs up!”

Picco Bar & Pizzeria, a pizza restaurant on Bondgate, also saw a huge soar in diners during the week. They said: “We were busy every night and takings were up substantially. We are looking forward to the next one.”

Voodoo Cafe, a Mexican bar and restaurant on Skinnergate, added: “It was a great success. We will definitely take part again.”

Plans for the next Darlington Restaurant Week are already underway with the promotion set to return in November.
